Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Premium Tracker — how it works, what it tracks, and how to get the most from it.

General

What is Premium Tracker?

Premium Tracker is a web application for options sellers who use the Wheel Strategy. It lets you log and track cash-secured puts (CSPs), covered calls (CCs), roll chains, premium income, and portfolio analytics — all in one dashboard purpose-built for income-focused options trading.

What is the Wheel Strategy?

The Wheel Strategy is a systematic options income approach: sell cash-secured puts on a stock you want to own, take assignment if exercised, then sell covered calls against the assigned shares until they are called away — then repeat the cycle to collect ongoing premium income. Learn more on our Wheel Strategy guide page. Read the full Wheel Strategy guide →

Who is Premium Tracker built for?

Premium Tracker is built for individual options sellers who generate income by systematically selling puts and calls — sometimes called 'theta gang' or 'premium sellers.' If you trade cash-secured puts, covered calls, or run the Wheel Strategy and want a better way to manage positions than a spreadsheet, Premium Tracker is for you.

Do I need to connect my brokerage account?

No. Premium Tracker is a manual trade journal — you log your own trades. This keeps your brokerage credentials entirely private and gives you full control over what is recorded. There is no broker integration required to use any feature.

Is Premium Tracker a financial advisor or investment platform?

No. Premium Tracker is a trade journaling and portfolio analytics tool. Nothing on the platform constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. You are solely responsible for your own investment decisions. Options trading involves substantial risk of loss.

Features

How do I track cash-secured puts (CSPs)?

When you open a new trade, select 'Cash-Secured Put' as the strategy. Enter the ticker, strike price, premium per share, number of contracts, and expiration date. Premium Tracker calculates your total premium received, capital at risk, and tracks the position through expiration, assignment, rolls, or closure.

Can I track covered calls and roll chains?

Yes. Premium Tracker tracks covered calls with full roll chain history. Every time you roll a position — buying back the current contract and selling a new one — the roll is linked to the original position. You can see your cumulative net credit or debit across the entire chain, not just the most recent leg.

What happens when I get assigned on a put?

You can log an assignment event directly from the position. Premium Tracker records your share acquisition, updates your effective cost basis (original strike minus all premium collected on that position), and automatically prompts the next step — selling a covered call.

Can I track multiple portfolios?

Yes. Free plan users get 1 portfolio. Pro plan users get unlimited portfolios, so you can separate accounts (e.g., IRA vs. taxable brokerage, or different strategies) and analyze each independently.

What analytics does Premium Tracker provide?

Premium Tracker provides monthly premium income charts, win rate by strategy and ticker, capital at risk across open positions, realized P&L on closed trades, strategy breakdown (CSP vs. CC), and portfolio-level performance trends. Pro plan users get advanced analytics including PDF export.

Does Premium Tracker support alerts?

Yes. You can set up expiration alerts to be notified before a position expires — giving you time to decide whether to roll, close, or let it expire. Free plan users get 1 active alert. Pro plan users get unlimited alerts.

Can I export my trade data?

Yes. All plans support CSV and JSON exports of your position and trade history. Pro plan users also get PDF export for performance reports.

Is there a watchlist feature?

Yes. The watchlist lets you monitor tickers you are considering for future trades — tracking price, implied volatility, and earnings dates. Free plan users get 1 watchlist (up to 10 stocks). Pro plan users get unlimited watchlists.

Pricing

Is Premium Tracker free?

An AI-powered plan is coming soon. It will include everything in Pro plus AI-powered portfolio analytics, automated strategy analysis, intelligent position sizing suggestions, earnings impact predictions, and portfolio optimization. Contact us to join the waitlist.

Can I cancel my Pro subscription anytime?

Platform

Is there a desktop app?

Yes. Premium Tracker offers a native Windows desktop app with auto-updates, taskbar integration, and launch-on-login — also available on the Microsoft Store. On macOS and Windows, you can also install the app directly from Chrome, Edge, or Safari as a Progressive Web App (PWA) that runs in its own standalone window.

Is there a mobile app?

Mobile apps for iOS and Android are coming soon. In the meantime, the web app is fully responsive and works well on mobile browsers.

How is my data secured?

Premium Tracker uses industry-standard security practices for authentication and data storage. Each user's data is fully isolated — you can only ever access your own positions and data, never another user's. Your trade data is private by default and is never shared or sold.

What authentication methods are supported?

You can sign in with Google, Apple, or email and password. Your credentials are handled securely and never stored in plain text.
